Adopt a Block

Making a difference in the community

Adopt a Block empowers youths to be changemakers, sparking awareness and support for sustainability.

NYP adopted three residential blocks in Teck Ghee when this initiative was launched in June 2024. Since then, 180 students from the Geo Council and the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Students’ Club have been engaging residents to encourage sustainable lifestyle habits.

Household visits

Household visits

55 students visit residents at their doorsteps to encourage reduced water and energy consumption. They also share ways to adopt recycling and green habits at home.

"It was inspiring to see how enthusiastic they were about the idea of giving second-hand items a new life. Their excitement and willingness to take in these items gave me a sense of hope that more people will understand and adopt this practice, which reduces waste and preserves our precious natural resources."
