The multiple-award recipient shares his inspiring journey with us.
My journey as a Biomedical Engineering student at Nanyang Polytechnic has been transformative. My academic pursuits have consistently aligned with my entrepreneurial ambitions, shaping my vision to innovate within the healthcare sector — a field that holds deep personal significance for me.
A significant milestone was the development of a Gait Analysis System powered by Artificial Intelligence as part of my final year project. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for the elderly in care centres and those living alone by sending alerts to caregivers about potential falls. After graduation, my team and I are exploring ways to expand this initiative to benefit the larger community.

As Club President of the SEG Student Club, I had the opportunity to further develop my leadership skills. I guided my peers through numerous successful events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the school. With a blend of academic excellence and leadership, I was honoured to receive the NYP STAR Award twice. The award recognises the contributions, talents, and passion of individuals who excel beyond academics.
In addition to my academic pursuits and entrepreneurial interests, volunteering has been a cornerstone of my personal growth. As an active participant at the Homework Cafe, I tutor students from lower-income families. Recognising the potential of technology to bridge gaps within the volunteering community, I'm developing an app to create a more connected network for volunteers.
My experiences at NYP have provided me a robust foundation. This journey has demonstrated NYP's strong support in helping me balance between personal growth, academic achievement, and the pursuit of entrepreneurial ventures, all while keeping community service at the heart of my endeavours.
The awards that I received aren't just mine; they celebrate everyone who has believed in me.
I have accepted an offer to study Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, after completing my National Service. I'm excited about what the future holds, confident that NYP has prepared me well for the road ahead.
