NYP Design & Media Shines at Crowbar Awards 2024 with Outstanding Wins

Exciting news! Our final-year Visual Communication and Motion Design students from the School of Design & Media have made us proud at the prestigious Crowbar Awards 2024, securing 3 Silver Awards and 1 Bronze Award.

The Crowbar Awards 2024, themed "The BIG BREAK," is one of the most prestigious competitions for young creatives across Asia-Pacific. The awards span across Branding, Packaging, Digital Innovation, and Motion Design categories.

Triple-Award Winner: Festive Flavours of Suntec

"Festive Flavours of Suntec" transforms Suntec Singapore Convention Centre into a vibrant Christmas bakery with immersive 3D visuals on The Big Picture LED wall. Featuring baking scenes, festive characters, and colourful decorations, it captivates and delights visitors.

Silver Award Winner: Bok-up
Bok-up repurposes corn cobs into biodegradable, plastic-free egg cartons, addressing agricultural waste. Their eggs support muscle, brain, and heart health while promoting a zero-waste, sustainable lifestyle.

Additionally, five of our students' projects advanced to the final rounds of the prestigious Crowbar Awards 2024. This marks a strong testament to their exceptional talent, creativity, and potential in the creative industry.

About the Project

Box it Forward

Created in collaboration with DHL, TenSquare, the Singapore Red Cross Society, and Mini Fanatics, "Box It Forward" is a 3D anamorphic animation promoting DHL’s logistics excellence and community support.

 

Featuring a dynamic DHL box unveiling an F1 racecar, the high-energy display blends realism with fantasy, capturing the thrill of speed and precision.

Luminous Wishes

 

Inspired by Chinese architecture, Luminous Wishes features a sustainable mooncake packaging made from repurposed peanut shells. It transforms into a lantern or cup sleeve, blending tradition with eco-conscious design – while promoting waste reduction and economic circularity.

"Together as One" celebrates Singapore’s unity and progress in a 3D anamorphic display on the TenSquare screen. Using a Claymation-like style, it traces the nation's journey from its kampung roots to a thriving, diverse city.

Sizzle Spice "Sizzle Spice" is a unique dating experience that highlights cooking as a fun and valuable skill. Individuals pair up and break the ice when they prepare a meal together – so that it's easier to connect and enjoy each other's company as they create memorable, interactive moments.
