Internships are pivotal in shaping career paths, offering students hands-on experience and exposure to real-world challenges. As a Management Trainee at JW Marriott Hanoi, I explored the hospitality industry’s inner workings, witnessing firsthand the high standards and precision that define a world-class hotel. This experience provided a solid foundation for my future career in hospitality.
My mentor guided me through the operations of the Service, Coffee, and F&B departments, helping me embrace JW Marriott’s brand principles. I also learned to handle guest concerns using the LEARN Model, which emphasises empathy and cultural sensitivity, particularly in challenging situations.

Accepting the local tempo and comprehending everyday living peculiarities proved critical to my absorption into the workplace but a worldwide career can lead to unforeseen chances, and organisations like Marriott provide ample opportunities for colleagues to fulfil their potential.
My internship experience has solidified my commitment to a career in hospitality. I strongly encourage fellow students to seek out similar opportunities that can profoundly shape their professional journeys.
