Retail analytics with Splunk
The annual Splunk challenge by SIT took on a retail slant this year. With more retailers tapping on technologies to improve their business processes, IT is set to play a prominent role in stores. Splunk - a platform for operation intelligence that collects, indexes and harnesses real-time data generated by applications, systems and infrastructure to provide data analysis and visualization - can lead the way in these efforts.
A retail power session
In a strategic partnership with global e-commerce powerhouse Amazon, SIRS organized a Power Talk and Networking session on 31 May for a group of C-Suite executives from multi-national companies and large chain stores such as the Jay Gee Group, Wing Tai Retail, and Changi Airport Group among others.
Bean to cup: the Upper Room, a partnership with School of Coffee
The Upper Room is one of the Teaching Enterprise Project (TEP) Centres for F&B Business students. Apart from honing their skills in local and gourmet coffee brewing at the guidance of trainers from School of Coffee, our students get to apply hands-on, their business management and entrepreneurship skills under the mentorship of business school lecturers.
Market+ for budding entrepreneurs
Market+, an online marketplace managed by School of Business Management (SBM)’s Omni Channel Retail Centre E-Commerce Specialist Team was launched on 30 July 2019.
