Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and its Board of Governors are fully committed to achieving a high level of public trust through maintaining high standards of integrity, governance and accountability.

 

What to Report

You should report issues such as mismanagement or misuse of resources, or inappropriate conduct and behaviour by NYP staff. Examples of reportable practices and behaviours (non-exhaustive) can be broadly categorised into the following: 

  1. Financial
    • Fraud or deliberate error in preparation, evaluation, review, or audit of financial accounts and records;
    • Embezzlement, cheating or theft;
    • Irregularities in financial reporting, misstatements arising from misappropriation of assets;
    • Improper or unauthorised expenditures/ misuse of funds and resources; and/or
    • Fraudulent claims.
  2. Procedural and Operational
    • Conflict of interest without due disclosure;
    • Deliberate breach or circumvention of internal policies;
    • Abuse of power or authority;
    • Financial and non-financial administrative malpractice, e.g. not observing procedures for tendering; and/or
    • Failure to observe a legal obligation.
  3. Conduct
    • Endangerment to health or safety of persons or environment;
    • Academic or professional malpractice e.g. violation of intellectual property rights or failure of integrity in research;
    • Improper conduct or unethical behaviour;
    • Participation in or condoning a reportable wrongdoing through willful suppression or concealment of any information relating to a wrongdoing;
    • Corruption or bribery;
    • Aiding and abetting illegal activities;
    • Unauthorised access and/or disclosure of information for personal gains; and/or
    • Any other conduct that may cause financial, non-financial loss.

 

When filing a report, you should provide pertinent information regarding the alleged incident(s) such as:

  • Date, time and place of the incident(s); 
  • Description of the nature of incident(s);
  • Identities of the alleged NYP staff involved and any other parties involved in the incident(s); and 
  • Any other relevant information or documentation that would assist in the evaluation of the incident(s) reported.

 

How to Report

You may report the incident(s) through any of the following channels:

 

For incident(s) related specifically to grants administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE)’s Academic Research Division (ARD) and Corporate Research Office (CRO), you may also report directly to MOE via the email MOE_ARD@moe.gov.sg.

For incident(s) related specifically to grants administered by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), you may write directly to Research_Office@ssg.gov.sg.

Standards for Reporting and Confidentiality
  • You are required to act in good faith and not with any malicious intent when reporting the alleged wrongful practices. NYP reserves the right to take appropriate actions should it be found that a person made an allegation frivolously, maliciously or for personal gain.
  • You can choose to remain anonymous. However, you are strongly encouraged to identify yourself so that the Committee could contact you for more information when required. You can be assured that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and your identity will be kept confidential to the extent feasible and permissible under the law.
