NYP in alliance with StarHub is working with various industry partners to develop and implement use cases tapping on 5G & MEC(Multi Access Edge Computing). The 5G Centre will also be useful in test & validation projects that involve data transfer, data analytics and acquisition, which are important components of Industry

4.0 in advanced manufacturing for various industry sectors. NYP and Star Hub will leverage their networks of industry players for deep knowledge sharing, ideation, and experimentation.

Four initial use cases at the NYP-StarHub Application & Experience Centre for 5G (Apex 5G), including a tie-up with the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for real-time remote monitoring of emergency patients. Other industry partners that NYP and StarHub are collaborating with include BHG Singapore, STMicroelectronics and several local tech start-ups.

The 5G centre exposes our learners to the upcoming 5G technology while developing applications riding on this new technology.  Learners are involved in real-life projects and use case scenarios through practical and final-year projects to gain exposure and knowledge on how 5G technology can be used in other industries.
