CareerLink

CareerLink works with companies on projects such as employer branding, employee engagement, job re-design and On-the-Job Training (OJT) Blueprint Development, and other HR improvement initiatives.

 

Through industry projects with partners such as DBS, SMRT, and Fastjobs, learners acquire and apply technical and core critical skills to prepare for the future economy.

Students from the Diploma in Business Management and specialising in Human Resource Management (HRM) will acquire and apply technical and core critical skills to prepare for the future economy. They are guided and mentored by experienced lecturers from the Human Resource Management (HRM) Team (and even industry practitioners). CareerLink offers learners an environment that promotes group interaction and collaboration. Progressive workplace practices are being experimented or implemented to allow learners to experience and reflect on its effectiveness and challenges. 

Our capabilities

CareerLink provides a suite of HR Consultancy & Services including but not limited to Organisational Climate Surveys, OJT Blueprint Development, Content Creation for Company's Careers webpages, Data Visualisation and Analysis.

 

Industry partners that collaborated with CareerLink include Samwoh Corporation, FastJobs, Pactera, DBS Bank Ltd, among others.

 

A recent project was to conduct a perception study of Financial Advisors as a potential career. CareerLink provided this service to analyse the recruitment campaign for DBS Bank Ltd's Strategic Business Planning. The work done was well-received. Ms Cecilia Ching, Team Head, complimented the professionalism of the CareerLink team and its dedication to attain survey responses that were used in the insights for improving the department's recruitment campaign.

Learning experience

This is a 12-week practice-oriented attachment. During their attachment, learners are assigned various roles to attain learning outcomes. Competencies relevant to HR practitioners are gained, including:  

 

1. Technical skills under the HR domain

These include interviewing skills as an HR function, performing data analytics and decision making.

 

2. Life skills and character-building values

These are attained in the delivery of projects, including critical thinking, curiosity & Independent learning, leadership and teamwork. Learners understand the importance of values such as professional ethics, self-awareness, mental resilience, and environmental sustainability.

 

3. Digital literacy

HR technology and digital solutions are introduced to learners, and they gain competencies in data analytics and visualisation, and digital content creation for employer branding. Softwares used include Tableau, Canva, Capcut, iMovie, TikTok, Wix etc. CareerLink is also collaborating with Workato to equip students with skills, expertise and industry opportunities in Business Process Automations (BPA).
