With a background in electronics manufacturing, Mr Tan Aik Khoon, Managing Director of Exceed Tech Pte Ltd, attained a Specialist Diploma in Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Engineering that expanded his knowledge, sharpened his skills, and built lasting connections.
The course covered essential biomedical industry concepts such as GxP, cGMP, process validation, and regulatory compliance. With practical experience gained in conducting Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Risk Assessments, Aik Khoon can utilise his skills to train staff on risk analysis and problem-solving.
A standout experience was the Integrated Work-Study Project (IWSP), where Aik Khoon engaged in real-world industry projects, supported by knowledgeable supervisors. He learnt about biomedical and pharmaceutical regulations—including US FDA 21 CFR, Singapore HSA guidelines, and ISO 13485 for medical devices—greatly enhanced his confidence in discussing industry topics. Notably, Aik Khoon applied this knowledge to achieve ISO 13485 certification for production facilities in Shenzhen.
Today, Aik Khoon is excited to be involved in a new venture focused on molecular imaging and high-throughput in vivo animal testing for drug research and development. Aik Khoon expresses his immense gratitude for the impactful learning experience at NYP, which has significantly influenced his career trajectory.

Exceed Tech Pte Limited is an electronics manufacturer specialising in ultra-sensitive sensors for the industrial, telematics, and healthcare sectors. Led by Mr Tan Aik Khoon, the company has successfully implemented a remote tracking system for operations at its production facilities in Shenzhen, China. This initiative, part of the Industry 4.0 Human Capital Initiative (IHCI) Enabler Programme supported by Workforce Singapore, has provided the management with enhanced visibility into shopfloor operations, enabling more informed decision-making and resulted in a remarkable 21% increase in output. By leveraging data insights, Exceed Tech Pte Limited has also improved assembly line accuracy and reduced operational costs by nearly 30%.
