Smart Sensing and IoT Applications - Making It Work

Smart Sensing and IoT Applications - Making It Work

About this course

Course objectives

This course aims to equip participants with key concepts and hands-on skills in software development of IoT smart sensing applications. Participants will learn essential skills on how to capture data from sensors to an IoT microcontroller and develop smart sensing applications that provide users operational insights via live data dashboards. After a series of hands-on exercises, participants will apply these skills to a real-life use case project and be ready to boost workplace productivity.

Course description

Internet-of-Things (IoT) refers to edge computing solutions that can sense, communicate, and analyse real-time data of physical world to gain visibility, operational efficiency and swiftly respond to dynamic changes. This applied learning course has two phases. Phase 1 is a 2-day workshop on overview of smart sensing and IoT, use cases in industries, hands-on exercises on smart sensing, microcontrollers, IoT dashboard, and participant’s use case sharing. Phase 2 consists of IoT use case implementation facilitation (four half-day sessions). A project team with 1-4 participants will be formed to embark on the use case project. Mentors will be assigned to facilitate each project group.

Participant will be able to retain the ESP32 IoT microprocessor and sensor kit upon course completion!!
