Course objectives
Effective risk management applies a systematic process to identifying, analysing, and evaluating event-related risks. By using this framework, you can implement, communicate and monitor control measures to ensure risk levels are managed within agreed risk tolerances. Whilst the risk assessment is mandatory under the Workplace Safety and Health Act (Chapter 354A, Section 65); Workplace Safety and Health (Risk Management) Regulations, there are several benefits as well:a) Protect the organisation’s assets including its people, property and reputationb) Provides assurance to the community and usersc) Provide a safer sporting environmentd) Reduce injuries and incidencese) Ensure compliance to regulationsf) Reduce risks to as low as practically possibleg) Reduce legal liability and litigation
Course description
a) Better understand the Workplace Safety and Health Act, especially the Risk Management Regulations
b) Understand the process and methodology of risk assessment; and
c) Better address risks and reduce it to as low as practically possible.
Trainer Profile
Delphine Fong
Delphine has pioneered the development of a Code of Practice (COP) for Safety in Aquatic Facilities: TR 71 with support from the Enterprise Singapore and Standards Development Organization. She is also the Convenor for the working committee for the COP for Sports Safety and Co-convenor for the Open Water Sports Safety Working Committee. The COP for Sports Safety; Singapore Standard 681:2022 will be launched on 15 March 2022. For her fervent efforts, Delphine was selected as a recipient of the Enterprise Singapore and Singapore Standards Council Commendation Award for her pivotal role and contribution in the implementation, development and promotion of the Singapore Standardization Programme.
