Course description
TGS-2020501195 (Non-WSQ)While chestnuts may be instantly associated with Christmas, they are really deliciously versatile and can be enjoyed in both sweet and savoury dishes. Cooking with chestnuts can also be easy and convenient with precooked and peeled chestnuts now readily available in retail stores. In this one-day workshop, learn to create two very sophisticated Chestnut desserts. The Mont Blanc is a popular tart recipe in Italy and France and owes its name to its shape, which resembles the famous mountain located on the French-Italian border. Each tart has a mountain full of chestnut mousse wrapped in noodles of tan-colored chestnut cream, and taste more fabulous than they look. Some say tarts are the best deserts in existence. Not only are they ridiculously delicious and versatile, you can let your creative juices flow in decorating them into works of art for a special occasion or during the festivities or simply for anytime anyday. The Chestnut Cake is a lovely pairing of chocolate pound cake with bits of chestnuts, topped with gorgeous chestnut cream. Visually impressive but surprisingly easy to make, this cake is perfect for any special occasion. Its buttery nutty taste goes perfectly with coffee or tea and is simply a joy to eat even if you are not a huge fan of chestnuts.
