What is your current work status, and what is your business about?

I am concurrently a Director of Biocreations since Year 2020 and General Manager of Giorgo Food & Beverage since Year 2023. Our primary focus is on producing natural preservatives that are healthier for people to consume and help reduce food waste. As businesses increasingly prioritise their effort for sustainability, we aim to contribute significantly by reducing daily food wastage.

What inspired you to venture into F&B industry, specifically manufacturing of Italian pastries?

During my final semester at NYP, I had the opportunity to participate in an overseas exchange programme. I recalled we visited France - the paradise of pastries. The European experience was an incredible eye-opener for me and left a lasting impression on me until today. Hence, when my business partner offered me the chance to manage an Italian pastry business in Ho Chi Minh City, I gladly accepted it.

What is the secret to become a successful entrepreneur?

Before I became an entrepreneur, I heard many rumours about challenges such as having to start from scratch and juggling multiple roles concurrently. While these challenges can be factual, overcoming them is often more manageable than it may seem to be. Essentially, you will have to move forward without letting fear hold you back – when you have an idea, just execute it. In addition, it is really important to have good mentors; they can guide you and help you avoid unnecessary detours.

What is your advice to students or the alumni community who are venturing to F&B industry?

Be passionate and 100% committed in what you are doing. Avoid having internal conflicts, and sometimes when life presents you with opportunities, you will have to take the plunge and see what it leads you. If you are introverted, don’t worry – experience will help you overcome it. My honest opinion is that you should always mingle around with people with matured thinking, they can be 20-30 years more senior than you, but they always have something valuable that you can learn from. Hence, I always treasure every networking opportunity, for me to know more people and gain more knowledge.

Give me one of your inspirational quotes.

“Sincerity and Integrity are the new Charisma.” Always have confidence in what you can achieve and don’t let fear overwhelm your potential.
