New World wine is produced basically anywhere in the world that can grow grapes and is not in Europe.
For example, the United States, Australia, India, China, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and Chile all produce New World wine.
Many of these places are warmer, so the grapes are raised in hotter and more humid climates and with richer soils.
These factors typically lead to a fuller body, and more fruit-forward flavours. These wines boast vibrant flavours, innovation, and a contemporary twist.
This Wines of The New World 2-day class brings together the appreciation of wines with emerging trends, study of viticulture, vinification and techniques of wine tasting.
It includes the knowledge and skills in understanding the information on wine labels, flavours and characteristics of still and sparkling wines from the New World region.
