Course objectives
The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Perianaesthesia) aims to develop specialty nurses with a well-developed knowledge base and specialist skills in both the technological and the caring dimensions of their respective specialty to make sound and rapid clinical judgements within a complex care environment, and to provide optimal holistic care to clients requiring specialty nursing.
Course description
The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Perianaesthesia) courses will be offered full-time over 33 weeks. Total curriculum is 860 hours comprising 420 hours of academic studies and 440 hours of clinical practice. The following PDCs are covered under this programme:
1. Post-Diploma Certificate in Principles of Perianaesthesia Nursing (210 hrs)
2. Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Perianaesthesia Nursing 1 (120 hrs)
3. Post-Diploma Certificate in Advanced Concepts in Perianaesthesia Nursing (210 hrs)
4. Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Perianaesthesia Nursing 2 (320 hrs)
