Course objectives
This course will explore the cooking methods of various Peranakan dishes. A one-day hands-on workshop focuses on Singapore's Peranakan Cookery. Aromatic, tangy, and spicy in a palette. Learn authentic dishes from our in-house Chef who is specialized in Peranakan cuisine using various distinct spices and cooking techniques used by the Malay/Indonesian and Chinese communities. Anyone who wants to pick up basic techniques in Peranakan cookery and expand their cuisine repertoire.
Course description
Identify the basic ingredients and spices used in Peranakan cookery. Demonstrate basic cooking techniques used by Malay, Indonesian and Chinese in Peranakan cookery. Understand the health and wellness benefits of spices used in cooking Peranakan dishes.
Programme Outline
• Hands on preparing spice paste for all dishes.
• Complete Babi Pontey and MEP for other 2 dishes.
• Complete other 2 dishes.
• Review full day lesson with Q&A at the end of the course.
