About this course

Course objectives

This course aims to enhance participants’ proficiency in system design and implementation of Smart Connected Systems through a 10-week part-time attachment programme to the Centre of Innovation for Electronics and IoT at the School of Engineering/Nanyang Polytechnic. This programme encompasses hands-on project work, personalized project consultations, and targeted training sessions to develop technical skills of participants in implementing modern smart connected systems for workplace productivity enhancement, harnessing IoT and digital technologies. The course duration is 154 hours (22 days), comprising a 2-day pre-project workshop and a 20-day project at NYP or in the company for 10 weeks (part-time) under supervision of a NYP staff.

Course description

This course is designed to empower participants with the ability to apply smart sensing and Internet-of-Things (IoT) knowledge and skills in addressing real-world business challenges. Participants will learn to design and develop smart connected systems and solutions with IoT sensors of their choice, and to create business value and operational insights for their organisations. The programme focuses on reskilling and upskilling of professionals who are already familiar with digital and information systems to build real-world smart and connected IoT solutions. Participants will learn and apply relevant development skills to be proficient in building Smart Connected Systems with close supervision throughout the project.
